Osteopathic Treatment Seminar
Migraines and Headaches
INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE
There exists a high incidence and prevalence of medical clinical consultations due to migraines and headaches; in fact, its approach and management demands an extense and methodical analysis of the different and multiple structures in association to these conditions.
Successful evaluation, differential diagnosis and treatment of the different structures entails an accurate understanding of the anatomy, biomechanics and pathomechanics. The upper cervical region, the myofascial chain dysfunctions and the craniosacral membrane tensions will have their place in our evaluation. A special approach will also be held to some visceral organs, which can also trigger or be responsable for the maintenance and chronicity of these clinical conditions, such as the intestines, the liver and the gynecological tract.
Treatment of migraines and headaches can be complex and confusing based upon the multitude of different tissues associated with these conditions. By utilizing a holystic approach, we may focus on a problem-solving basis to accurately and successfully evaluate and fix these painful and invalidating conditions.
Included in this three-hour workshop is a short overview of the most common clinical conditions in which therapeutic intervention is indicated, evaluation and treatment schemes to promote successful outcomes.
Attendees will develop an osteopathic overview of the evaluation and treatment of migraines and headaches, with diagnosis, manual therapy, and evidence supported treatment techniques.
